Einstein Class travel back in time with virtual reality

Pupils in Einstein Class were transported back in time to Ancient Greece, without ever leaving the classroom, thanks to a fascinating Virtual Reality workshop delivered by Emma Webber from The Education Group.

Through the power of VR headsets, each child had the chance to step into the world of Ancient Greece, exploring the myths, gods, and ground-breaking ideas that have shaped our modern world.

The experience included an immersive journey to the very first Olympic Games, a fascinating encounter with Greek gods and heroes, and a thrilling tour through the afterlife—where children were especially careful not to wake the fearsome Cerberus!

Teacher Mrs Bull said: “I’ve never heard so many ‘oohs’, ‘ahhs’, and ‘wows’ in one lesson. The children were completely captivated. They learned so much and were still talking about what they'd seen long after the headsets were put away.”

Each pupil received their own headset, preloaded with engaging, CGI-enhanced videos from The Education Group’s exclusive databank. The topics included:

Greek gods and myths – where pupils discovered legendary tales and journeyed through the afterlife;

Greek innovations – showcasing how ancient minds continue to influence maths, astronomy and democracy;

The Olympic legacy – from the ancient games worshipping Zeus to the modern-day Olympics and Paralympics.

The session concluded with a virtual tour of a museum, packed with artefacts, information and exhibits, making it feel like a real-world school trip—without the travel. Each section of the workshop included interactive quizzes to reinforce learning and spark discussion.

Thanks to Emma Webber and The Education Group, history lessons at our school have reached exciting new heights—and the spirit of Ancient Greece is well and truly alive in Einstein Class!

Principal Rachel Clarke said: “This was a truly unique learning experience. It’s exciting to see how technology like Virtual Reality can bring history to life in such a vivid, memorable way.”
