Top play award

A high-quality outdoor learning environment and inclusive play opportunities have earned a Lincolnshire primary school a prestigious award.

The platinum OPAL Play Award is a nationally recognised accreditation that celebrates schools demonstrating an exceptional commitment to pupils' play opportunities.

Investment from the Academy, Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust plus support from parents and the community, has transformed the outdoor environment since the school signed up to OPAL in Autumn 2021.

The Play Team at the school said: "Our OPAL approach promotes a more inclusive play environment in which all children can feel comfortable to express themselves.

"Our OPAL journey began in Autumn 2021, and since this time, we have quickly transformed our outdoor environment, ensuring every child has access to engaging and enriching play experiences.

"Our children love the new outdoor opportunities that OPAL offers with so much more for them to do, no matter the weather!"

The school's dedication to fostering a vibrant and dynamic play culture has been widely recognised through the support of, and donations from, parents and wider community.
